With that, Carmen dove into her piano rendition of Ty Myers’ “Thought It Was Love,” and while Carrie was impressed by the hopeful’s “really pretty voice,” she urged Carmen to “put some oomph” in her performances.
As such, Carmen gave it another go, this time calling on Britani to duet with her on “Let Me Be Your Star” from the NBC musical drama Smash. And while the Grammy winner still felt that Carmen needed to “cut loose a little bit,” the number earned the aspiring musician a ticket to Hollywood Week.
Carmen has certainly taken after her aunt in her creative pursuits. After all, Britani released a holiday-themed EP in 2024 and launched her one-woman show, What About Me: An Evening With Britani Bateman in New York City in December, comparing the production to “opening a new chapter.”
“People know me from Housewives,” she told People of the cabaret effort, “but this show lets me step out of that world for a night and just be Britani—no snow, no drama, just fun.”
“I’m pouring so much of myself into this show,” she added, “and I can’t wait for everyone to feel that energy right along with me.”
