Dove Cameron Engaged to Damiano David

Dove Cameron and Damiano David's romance has just soared to new heights.

The Disney Channel star confirmed that she and the frontman of Italian rock band Måneskin are engaged after two years of dating.

"My favourite part of being alive," Dove captioned her Jan. 3 Instagram post, showing off her new sparkler as the couple looked at each other lovingly. "Happy new year."

Dove sparked engagement rumors on Oct. 29 by wearing a massive sparkling ring on that finger while walking with Damiano in Sydney, Australia.

Indeed, the pair's relationship upgrade comes shortly after they celebrated their second anniversary together.

"The 2 best years of my life," Dove wrote on Instagram Oct. 9 alongside PDA pics. "I am brought to tears at least once a week because life has become so beautiful with you in it. I love you in a way no words could ever express, but i will never stop trying. buon anniversario amore mio."

Damiano's response? Well, he confirmed their romance is the "best part of being alive."

The pair first met at the 2022 MTV VMAs, where the Descendants star and the Italian rocker's band were both nominated for Best New Artist.

"You just run into different artists backstage," Dove, who won the award, told Cosmopolitan in 2024, "and when I met them, I don’t think I even spoke to Damiano."

And although she was unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts ban, the band later asked Dove to open for them on tour, and she again declined.

"I couldn't make it happen," she said. "There were just these passing-ships-in-the-night things happening."

Fast-forward to the 2023 VMAs, and Dove and Damiano, 26, finally reunited at the event that first brought them together. He invited her to visit them at Madison Square Garden, where they were starting a world tour, and this time, she didn't say no. And there, their romance blossomed.

"It was very, very slow, cautious, feeling-out, interview-type questions for eight hours," Dove said about their time backstage, "before it was finally like, 'OK, are we holding hands now?'"

The Liv and Maddie alum added, "I remember I was fascinated because he presents in a way that seems very easily digestible and then you spend two minutes around him and you realize he is the kindest, most generous, most innocent, most giving person. He’s just a beautiful, sensitive soul."

Months later, the two made their red carpet debut as a couple at Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy gala in Beverly Hills in February 2024. Three months later, the two attended the Met Gala together.

But ultimately, the couple's favorite type of night is low-key.

“We’re really just enjoying being a normal couple. We’re quite genuinely private," Dove exclusively told Erin Lim Rhodes on E! News’ The Rundown this past March. “We like to stay home more than anything else."

"We’re watching Lost," Dove continued, “6 p.m. the jammies are on."
