Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Gujarat on Saturday evening and will participate in programmes over several districts between January 10 and 12.

PM Modi will arrive in Gir-Somnath district in the evening and participate in Omkar Mantra chanting at the Somnath temple at Prabhas Patan at 8 pm. Subsequently, he will view a Drone show at Somnath temple.

At around 9:45 am, PM Modi will take part in Shaurya Yatra, a ceremonial procession organised to honour the countless warriors who laid down their lives defending the Somnath Temple. This will include a march by the cavalry of the Gujarat Police.

At 10:15 am, Modi will perform Darshan and Pooja at the Somnath Temple.

At around 11 am, he will participate in a public function marking Somnath Swabhiman Parv.

He will then travel to Rajkot city where he will inaugurate the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for the Kutch and Saurashtra Region at around 1:30 pm.

At 2 pm, he will address the gathering on the occasion. He will then travel to Gandhinagar.

At around 5:15 pm at Mahatma Mandir metro station, PM Modi will inaugurate the remaining stretch of Phase 2 of Ahmedabad metro from Sector 10A to Mahatma Mandir.

At 9:30 am, PM Modi will meet the Federal Chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz, at the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad.

The two leaders will then participate in the International Kite Festival at the Sabarmati Riverfront at around 10 am.

This will be followed by bilateral engagements from 11:15 am onwards at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, where the Prime Minister and the German Chancellor will review the progress made in the India-Germany Strategic Partnership, which has recently completed 25 years.

A SECTION of the western road of the Sabarmati riverfront will remain closed on Sunday due to the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz to the International Kite Festival.

The section of this road between Vadaj crematorium and Ambedkar bridge will be closed for all traffic between 7 am and 12 pm on January 12, the Ahmedabad City Police said in a statement on Friday.

The road from Vadaj crematorium to Vadaj circle and on to Usmanpura crossroads, to under the Income Tax flyover, to the Bata showroom and on to Town Hall can be used as an alternative route to reach Paldi crossroads, the statement said.
