Aryan Khan and Bobby Deol during The Bads of Bollywood trailer launch.

Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan received rave reviews for his debut show The Bds of Bollywood. Recently, Gautami Kapoor, who plays a pivotal role in the series, opened up about her experience of working with Aryan and shared how the star kid was clear-headed, confident, and hands-on from the very beginning. She revealed that Aryan was deeply involved not just in staging scenes but also in performing stunts himself and demonstrating exactly what he wanted from the actors.

Speaking to Siddharth Kannan, Gautami said, “During the reading of the show, was the first time I met Aryan. I was waiting to see what he does. We were 25 actors in a room, he came, started the reading and the clarity he had for each and every character, big small doesn’t matter, the clarity he had was staggering. My mouth was open. I was like oh my god at 24-25, he has this kind of clarity and maturity about a project that he has written and is going to direct.”

Gautami admitted that many people found it difficult to believe that Aryan had directed the show himself. She addressed the speculation and praised his dedication, saying, “A lot of people asked ‘has Aryan directed it himself or someone has ghost directed it?’ We shot for 20 hours for that. The way he has directed it hats off to him. Let me be clear, each and everything done in the show is done by Aryan. So many of the stunts he used to do it and show actors.”

She further lauded Aryan’s upbringing and warm nature, drawing parallels with his father Shah Rukh Khan. Gautami shared, “He is such a well brought up child. Every time I go to the Red Chillies office and if Aryan is there, he would hug me and drop me to the lift.” Recalling an incident that highlighted Shah Rukh Khan’s humility, she said, “When we went for the screening of first two episodes of the show, my daughter accompanied me. She had to leave in the middle of the screening, and Shah Rukh Khan got up and walked with her to the lift. He even had a conversation with her regarding her studies and other things. There is no need for him to do all this. He doesn’t know my daughter, he doesn’t know me, but he still got up from his chair and took my daughter all the way to the lift, escorted her down. My daughter was nervous, trembling. There is no need of that, he is Shah Rukh Khan, but amazing. So much to learn from these people.”

Gautami also spoke about her experience working with Bobby Deol and how the actor reacted to Aryan’s perfectionist approach. She shared, “He is calm and reserved person. We had a lot of scenes together, but he never made me feel like ‘I am the Lord Bobby Deol’, nothing like that, he was very normal. He used to get as irritated… Aryan is a stickler for perfection, so it was never 1-2 takes, it was always 10-15 takes. We were all at it, whether it was Bobby Deol, Manoj Bawa, or anyone.”
