The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Saturday launched its campaign song for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections, asserting that the party would return to power for a fourth consecutive term.
The song’s launch comes within 48 hours after a stand-off between Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) over the raids at I-PAC offices and the firm’s director Pratik Jain’s house.
The chief minister’s protest over the ED raids at I-PAC offices has also been incorporated into the party’s election campaign song.
The political consultancy released a campaign song titled- “Jotoi koro hamla, abar jitbe Bangla” – for the TMC, featuring Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee. The 3-minute and 12-second video showcases their programmes, meetings, and protests.
The party shared the song on social media, captioning it: “Our campaign song for #AbarJitbeBangla is finally here, ready to ignite every corner of Bengal!”
“Tune in and feel the raw power of our land; the defiant pulse of Bengal beating strong, the unbreakable resolve of millions who refuse to be silenced, the thunderous roar of a people rising as one against every conspiracy and attack. This song is the heartbeat of our resistance, the anthem of our pride, the voice of Ma-Mati-Manush declaring: Jotoi Koro Hamla, Abar Jitbe Bangla!,” the TMC wrote on X.
The ED team’s raid on I-PAC offices and at the firm’s director Pratik Jain’s house has sparked intense state politics since Thursday. Amidst the search, CM Mamata Banerjee rushed to Jain’s house and office in Salt Lake, followed by a protest march from Jadavpur to Hazra More on Friday. Meanwhile, TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee addressed a public meeting in Nadia and visited Matua Thakurbari in Thakurnagar.
The TMC has turned this incident into a rallying point, with the campaign song aiming to boost party morale.
“Bengal will win again despite all attacks against it,” the campaign song says, asserting, “We march on a new path with a new direction, your darkness will lose against the new dawn.” The lyrics also make references to political issues.
“We will not be afraid of the SIR or NRC, there is still time for you to recognise Mother Bengal’s strength,” goes the song’s lyrics, which is accompanied by a video showcasing Mamata Banerjee and the party second-in-command Abhisekh Banerjee.
Claiming that the song will energise party workers and supporters, a senior TMC leader said, “Mamata Banerjee’s stance during the ED raid increased morale of the party. This song will boost the party’s rank and file morale like “khela hobe” song did during the 2021 Assembly Election. It also used the sentiment of Bangla for which people will stand beside TMC in the coming election.”
