BTS confirms 2026 comeback and world tour; surprises ARMY with New Year Weverse live

BTS fans got a surprise on the New Year as all band members came live on Weverse to wish fans a Happy New Year. The members — Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook — went live just 12 minutes before the New Year in South Korea and spent time with their fans during those final moments of 2025. The band’s agency also shared an exciting update on BTS’ comeback and their future world tour.

The members were seen having fun and cracking jokes during the live. They laughed together as they spent the last minutes of 2025 with each other and their fans. They then started the countdown and said “Happy New Year” in Korean and then in English.

Fans were elated to receive New Year wishes live from BTS. A fan wrote, “Oh can’t wait for BTS 2026 💜 I’m so excited.” Another fan commented, “Them spending midnight with us fans made me so emotional. I hope 2026 only brings happiness their way.”

The band had disbanded temporarily as its members went on to complete mandatory military service in South Korea. During this period, they also released their individual albums and songs. All members completed their service by June 2025, and reports were rife that they were preparing their new album in the USA. Fans have been waiting with bated breath to see the band reunite and, as per Reuters, on Thursday their agency, Big Hit Music, finally announced that the band will return with a new album on March 20, 2026. The agency also revealed that this release will be followed by the band’s world tour. This will mark the band’s first album release after a three-year hiatus since their last 2022 anthology album, Proof.

Earlier, the band had sent a postcard to ARMY Gold members on December 30, hinting at their return. The postcard, which featured a new logo, listed the date March 20, 2026. This sparked a frenzy among fans, who guessed that it could be the release date of their new album.

The reverse side of the postcard featured printed handwritten messages from each BTS member. Jin’s note read, “Hello ARMY. Happy New Year. I greeted you all as a soloist in 2023 and 2024, but I can finally greet you as part of a team again. Thank you so much for waiting. We will work hard with our promotions. Fighting.”

“Hello ARMY, the new year 2026 has arrived. Finally, it’s the year that we will all be together with you!! I’m already looking forward to it!! Finally, what I’ve been thinking of is becoming reality!! For real!! Happily and with joy!! Let’s be together. Let’s go!! ARMY!! BTS!! (sic),” wrote J-Hope.

Suga wrote, “Happy new year ARMY!! The new year is starting again. I’m praying that things will be awesome for you this year as well. I miss you. Let’s have fun this year. I love you!! We’ll see you soon.” Messages of the other band members were also along similar lines.
