The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) questioned the ‘uncalled for’ comments made by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy against BRS and its founder K. Chandrasekhar Rao, and said such language against the one who fought for and achieved statehood to Telangana is unbecoming of a Chief Minister.
Speaking at Siddipet, former minister T. Harish Rao said Mr. Revanth Reddy was using ‘street language’ against Mr.Chandrasekhar Rao who achieved Telangana. But for Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao, Mr. Revanth Reddy would not even have become a Minister, let alone becoming the Chief Minister.
“One can’t expect better language given the political journey of Mr. Reddy so far and he’s know for horse-trading the legislators as he was caught red-handed with money while trying to bribe an MLC in the past for enlisting his support in the Legislative Council election to a candidate fielded by the party with which Mr. Reddy was associated with then,” Mr. Harish Rao said.
He alleged that Mr. Reddy was doing real estate business with the lands acquired for the Pharma City project and his government was clearing bills only to those who were giving 20% commission.
At Suryapet, another former Minister, G. Jagadish Reddy, said with his cheap comments Mr. Revanth Reddy had proved again that he was only a ‘low-level’ leader. He sought to know whether Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao had ever taken Mr. Revanth Reddy’s name during the last two years. Instead of speaking on the issues raised by Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao, the Chief Minister was getting personal as he had nothing to claim or tell about.
Whip of BRS Legislature Party K.P. Vivekanand said it was unfortunate that the State was being headed by a person whose language was worsening against opponents and that his two-year rule had proved he had learnt nothing even after getting elected as ZPTC member, MLC, MLA, MP and becoming Chief Minister. Party leaders Rasamayi Balakishan, Chirumarthi Lingaiah and others also reacted.
