But when it comes to his big night at the Golden Globes, the Set It Up actor was honored to be nominated in the comedy category, especially alongside Only Murders in the Building stars Steven Martin and Martin Short, sharing they are “two of the guys that got me into this thing in the first place. So I’m just really excited.”
Glen—who is also up against Adam Brody (Nobody Wants This), Seth Rogen (The Studio) and Jeremy Allen White (The Bear)—previously said how thrilled he was to have his work on Chad Powers recognized.
“Feeling so grateful to be recognized for a show that means the world to me,” he wrote on X after the nominations were announced in December. “And it's absolutely surreal to be sharing a category with some of my comedy heroes.”
“Not to bring it back to sports, but with Chad Powers I am truly surrounded by a championship team,” he continued. “Our incredible writers, our tireless crew, and as an actor you're only as good as your teammates... and I get to play with the most brilliant cast every day. There is no greater feeling than watching your costars show up with big ideas and commit to them fearlessly. This group sent me home everyday smiling from ear-to-ear, abs sore, and pinching myself that this is my job.”
But the series wasn’t without its hurdles, especially as he experienced a small medical emergency during filming, in part because of the heavy prosthetics and costumes he was wearing.
“I’m wearing a helmet and a wig and the mask,” he told E! News in September. “And I'm running this football play over and over and over.”
“I got to the end of it, I throw this touchdown,” he recalled. “I scream and I black out.”
Glen shared that while he was “no longer there mentally," he remained standing while blacked out, and when he came to, everyone was staring at him.
“It was bad,” he added. “It was crazy.”
Luckily for Glen, there were no prosthetics he needed to worry about on the red carpet.
