Vaa Vaathiyaar Movie Review LIVE Updates: Karthi's Vaa Vaathiyaar set for release on January 14.
Vaa Vaathiyaar Movie Review and Release Live Updates: Karthi’s upcoming film Vaa Vaathiyaar is all set to hit the screens on January 14, Wednesday, on the occasion of Pongal. The film also stars Krithi Shetty in the lead role, while Sathyaraj, Rajkiran, Anandaraj, Shilpa Manjunath, Karunakaran, G. M. Sundar, Ramesh Thilak, Nivas Adithan and P. L. Thenappan play supporting roles in the film. Vaa Vaathiyaar is written and directed by Nalan Kumarasamy.
In an old interaction with PTI, Karthi had revealed that he had almost said ‘no’ to doing the film Vaa Vaathiyaar. He admitted that the role initially left him anxious. “Just thinking about it made me sleepless at nights. The thought that I might offend MGR’s hardcore fans by my acting made me scared. But then, I also know that growth comes when we face our fears. So, one day, I called Nalan (Kumarasamy) and said, ‘I am taking up your offer,'” he had said.
Vaa Vaathiyaar has also been facing several delays due to legal and financial issues. Earlier, the Madras High Court had issued a stay on the film after noting unpaid dues worth Rs 21 crore by the producer of Vaa Vaathiyaar. The court had ordered a stay on the film, following which its release was postponed multiple times. The film will finally release on Wednesday.
The movie will face stiff competition at the box office from Prabhas’ The Raja Saab, Chiranjeevi and Nayanthara’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, and Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi. While Parasakthi is struggling to hold audience interest, The Raja Saab and Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu are performing well at the box office. The film, however, will benefit from postponement Vijay-starrer Jana Nayagan.
Vaa Vaathiyaar is produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja under the Studio Green banner. The film has music composed by Santhosh Narayanan, cinematography handled by George C. Williams and editing by Vetre Krishnan.
