BTS' V hinted at their maiden India visit in 2026.
Last week, during a livestream Weverse interaction with the ARMY, K-pop boy band BTS got their Indian fans excited when while addressing one of them, BTS member V said, “Namaste Indian ARMY. See you next year.” Since then, fans have been speculating whether the South Korean septet will make their maiden India visit in 2026.
V hinting at BTS’ maiden India visit coincides with the K-Pop boy band reuniting after a gap of four years. Back in June 2022, BTS had announced that they’re taking a temporary hiatus before their members’ military enlistment begins. In South Korea, men above the age of 18 are required to undergo mandatory military training.
The temporary hiatus was also an opportunity for their members to recuperate from incessant music making and touring, and pursue individual careers as performers. Now that all seven members of BTS — Jung Kook, V, Jimin, Suga, RM, Jin, and j-Hope have completed their mandatory military training, they’re likely to reunite and go on one of their biggest global tours yet next year.
As per a Bloomberg report, BTS’ talent management agency HYBE is mulling over launching the boy band’s biggest tour following the release of their comeback album in Spring 2026. The tour is likely to be peppered all over the world through 60-65 shows, with North America and Europe as major stops. However, there’s no word on whether India will be a part of this massive global tour yet.
HYBE kicked off its India operations in 2021 after the Hallyu (Korean Wave) hit the country, most notably during the Covid-19 pandemic, when people across the country took to South Korean content in the form of K-Dramas and K-pop. “With nearly 185 million users, India’s music streaming market is the second largest in the world, making it an ideal market for our growth strategy. The rapid rise of K-pop in India highlights the country’s potential, and we are excited to deepen our presence here,” HYBE had said in a statement.
However, HYBE’s statement was in context of the ongoing GOLDEN: The Moments exhibition taking place at Mehboob Studios in Mumbai. Brought to India for the first time through a partnership between BookMyShow Live and HYBE, the exhibition invites fans to step into the journey Jung Kook undertook in the making of his record-breaking album GOLDEN in 2023.
At the preview of the exhibition, Anil Sharma, COO – Live Entertainment & Venues, BookMyShow, said, “It’ll take time to get BTS to India. But with GOLDEN, The Moments, at least we’ve started a conversation with HYBE.” When asked to clarify when BTS will be performing in the country (and if it’s 2026?), Sharma just said, “This is just the trailer. The best is Yet To Come,” invoking BTS’ popular 2022 song.
Since the conversation with HYBE has just started and it’ll take a while to get BTS to India, it’s unlikely for India to be a part of their 2026 global tour. In anticipation of an official announcement, the ARMY in India can visit GOLDEN: The Moments exhibition in Mumbai, which will conclude on January 11, 2026.
