Bigg Boss Tamil has been dominating headlines, thanks to a bold move by the show’s newest host, Vijay Sethupathi. In the latest promo, the actor is seen handing out two red cards to Season 9 contestants VJ Paaru and Kamaruddin for their violent and disrespectful conduct on the show. In the recently released video, Vijay Sethupathi strongly reprimands the duo for their behaviour and issues them red cards, signalling their immediate eviction from the Bigg Boss house.

The controversy erupted during the ‘Ticker to Finale’ task that began this week. As part of the task, a series of games were introduced to help contestants earn maximum points and climb the leaderboard. One such challenge required nine contestants—Sandra, Vikkals Vikram, Aurora Sinclair, Subiksha, Gana Vinoth, Sabari, VJ Paaru, and Kamaruddin—to sit inside a car and stay awake through the night without stepping out, in order to secure top scores.

Since Vikram was unable to fit inside the vehicle, he exited the car first. Soon after, a heated argument broke out between Sandra, Kamaruddin, and VJ Paaru, with the contestants attacking each other over their conduct on the show. The argument escalated into verbal abuse, and matters took a shocking turn when VJ Paaru and Kamaruddin were seen opening the car door and kicking Sandra out of the vehicle.

Sandra fell from the car, and the emotional trauma reportedly led to her suffering seizures. Witnessing this, Sabari and Gana Vinoth immediately exited the car to help Sandra and ensure she received medical attention.

Clips from the incident quickly surfaced online, triggering widespread outrage, with many viewers criticising VJ Paaru and Kamaruddin for their unethical and inhumane behaviour.

Soon after the incident, Sandra broke down and pleaded with the makers to send her home. Another clip also surfaced online showing Sandra waking up as early as 5 am and hiding under the bed, fearing further violence from Paaru and Kamarudin. The disturbing visuals sparked widespread outrage, with many viewers calling out the makers and the host of the show, demanding that Sandra be taken to a hospital for a thorough medical check-up before the game continued.

Now, in the latest promo of the show, Vijay Sethupathi expressed his anger over their actions, questioned their upbringing, and dramatically pulled out two red cards from his pocket, showing them to the contestants and asking them to leave the show immediately. He sarcastically remarked that their families would be proud of them for kicking a woman out of a vehicle and continuing to hurl abuses at her even as she went into convulsions.

The promo soon went viral, especially after being shared on Reddit, prompting a flood of reactions. Most users praised Vijay Sethupathi for taking a firm stand. One user wrote, “What makes it more satisfying is that these two were very close to the finals and now they’re gone—not by eviction, but by red card. LOLOLOLOL.”

Another commented, “The hype is similar to BB1 Julie’s kurumpadam.” Others added, “Hope they really exit and don’t come back just because they cry or beg,” while many felt the promo completely elevated the season.

Another widely shared comment read, “So it’s really the end. Actions taken, words echoed—loud and clear. Goodbye Kammu and Paru. Let this be a lesson to all contestants going forward. Strategise, be physically challenging, speak loud, create drama—but never abuse anyone physically or emotionally.”

Several viewers also pointed out the audience’s reaction during the announcement, with loud claps and hoots echoing in support of Vijay Sethupathi. One comment noted, “The audience reaction makes the promo even more goosebumps-inducing.”

Launched on October 5, Bigg Boss Tamil Season 9 airs on Star Vijay. The grand finale is expected to take place on January 11. Previously, Kamal Haasan hosted the Tamil version of the reality show.
