Expressing his unflinching faith in Lord Hanuman, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister, K. Pawan Kalyan, said he along with others, including Jana Sena Party workers, will perform ‘Kar Seva’ (voluntary shramadaan) to lay road for the sacred ‘Giri Pradakshina’ at Telangana’s famous Kondagattu hill shrine.
The divine power of ‘Giri Pradakshina’ at the revered Kondagattu hill shrine, the abode of Lord Anjanna (Hanuman), will not only protect Telangana but entire India, he said.
He was responding to Telangana Minister for SC, ST and Welfare, Adluri Laxman Kumar’s proposal for construction of a road exclusively for ‘Giri Pradakshina’ at the hill shrine.
Mr. Pawan Kalyan along with the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) trust board chairman, B. R. Naidu, laid the foundation stone for the construction of a 96-room choultry and a ‘Deeksha Viramana Mandapam’ at Kondagattu hill temple in Jagtial district on Saturday (Jnauary 3, 2026).
He performed Bhumi Puja for these development works worth ₹35.19 crore, funded by the TTD. Choppadandi MLA Medipally Sathyam and others were present.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Mr. Pawan Kalyan struck an emotional tone over his affinity for Kondagattu hill temple. “It was a rebirth for me when I narrowly escaped electrocution with the blessings of Lord Anjanna,” he said recalling an incident in which he had a miraculous escape from electrocution during a campaign in the erstwhile Karimnagar district in 2009.
The archakas of Kondagattu temple apprised me of the need for accommodation facilities for Hanuman Deeksha devotees, who throng the hill shrine in lakhs during Hanuman Jayanti festival season.
The TTD generously sanctioned funds for construction of a 96-room choultry and a ‘Deeksha Viramana Mandapam’ in Kondagattu, he said, thanking Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, and others for their cooperation in this regard.
Describing Lord Hanuman as a ‘universal god’, he said, “All Hanuman devotees should become partners in ‘Rama Karyam’, the holy mission of developing this famous pilgrimage site.”
“It is heartening to note that the Telangana government is readying a master plan for the development of Kondagattu hill temple,” he said, thanking Telangana Chief Minister, A. Revanth Reddy, for treating him as a ‘State guest’ during his visit to Kondagattu.
