The show has also turned its two leads into overnight sensations, as viewers have flooded social media with their often-unfiltered reactions to Hudson and Connor’s jaw-dropping love scenes. And while the actors are savoring their newfound stardom, they’re also aware of fans’ lusty commentary.
“We’re definitely objectified,” Connor, 25, said in an interview with GQ Hype published Dec. 23. “I signed up knowing that would be a part of it. I really did not think my butt would be such a topic of conversation.”
As such, Connor and Hudson, 24, have gone to great lengths to keep aspects of their personal lives out of the spotlight, particularly amid speculation about their sexual orientation.
“I think there’s never a question for me,” Hudson told Deadline in an interview published Dec. 11, “when I would dream of becoming in the public eye, that I would want just a level of privacy.”
And the same goes for Connor, who has also kept details about his dating preferences vague.
“I feel honored to be able to bring someone to life that so many people feel seen, understood, and represented by,” he said in an interview with Vulture published Dec. 22, “and I think that transcends whoever I’m sleeping with in my real life.”
