Ikkis Box Office Collection Day 3: The film begins it's first weekend on a positive note.

Ikkis Box Office Collection Day 3: The new year has started with Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar breaking more box office records and Sriram Raghavan’s Ikkis slumming it out in theatres. The war drama, starring Agastya Nanda in the lead role, just went into the first weekend of its theatrical run, and things are looking positive. Even though Dhurandhar has had such a hold on theatres, Agastya’s film is putting up a strong fight. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Ikkis earned Rs 4.56 crore net on day 3 of its theatrical run.

This number is a slight improvement from day 2, where the film saw a 50% decline, earning just Rs 3.5 crore. With the Dhurandhar fever gradually dying down, Ikkis could end this weekend on a positive note and buy itself more days on the big screen.

Even though Agastya Nanda has worked in the Netflix film Archies, the Zoya Akhtar directorial did not get a theatrical release; hence, this is a completely new experience for the legacy star. A third-generation Bachchan family actor, Agastya is part of a class of newcomers who are inconsistent at best. While some new stars did extremely well last year, such as Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, who starred in the hit of the summer, Saiyaara (Rs 329 crore net), there were some who just couldn’t make the same impact, such as Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor, whose OTT film Nadaaniyan faced a lot of scrutiny.

Sriram Ragahvan’s film currently has more than 3200 shows across the country, with NCR leading the race with 649 shows. However, if the director hopes to retain this amount at the end of the film’s first week, the numbers will have to pick up. The occupancy rates of day 3 averaged out at 20.69%, with the morning and afternoon shows bringing in numbers like 7.95% and 20.24%. The evening and night shows achieved rates of 26.34% and 28.21%.

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the cast of Ikkis includes Agastya Nanda, Jaideep Ahlawat, Dharmendra, Simar Bhatia, Deepak Dobriyal, Rahul Dev, Zakir Hussain, and Suhasini Mulay.
