Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday (January 7, 2026) directed State government officials to meet people at their respective offices and addresses their concerns for two working days in a week (Mondays and Fridays). The fresh isntructions, effective from January 19, are aimed at tackling public grievances that persist due to the absence of government officials in the offices.
“It has often been observed that when common people go to government offices with their problems, the officials are not present, which causes them inconvenience. Keeping this in mind, to ensure that the common people of the state do not face any kind of difficulty in matters related to government offices, the government has taken a few steps,” Mr. Kumar said in a post on X.
Mr. Kumar said that on these two working days — Monday and Friday — the “common people will meet the concerned officials at their designated workplaces/office rooms in all government offices at the Gram Panchayat, police station, block, subdivision, district, division, and State levels for the execution of their complaints.”
“On both the designated days, all concerned officials will be present in their respective offices, meet the people respectfully, listen to their complaints with sensitivity, and resolve them promptly,” he added.

I am fully confident that this initiative will prove to be very useful for the common citizens of the State, and their daily lives will become easier. If you wish to give any other specific suggestions regarding this arrangement, you can submit your valuable suggestions by January 10, 2026 through post, email and QR code,” Mr. Kumar said.
