Jessica Alba Praises 8-Year-Old Son Hayes’ Bravery After Year of “So Many New Changes”

Though Jessica is impressed with her son’s ability to study different sports techniques, she’s even more in awe of the bond he’s built with his older sisters Honor, 17, and Haven, 14, over the years.

“I love your quick wit with your sisters,” she continued, “and your desire to always play and have fun. I love that you are bilingual and have such compassion and empathy for anyone who might feel different in any way or circumstance. I’ve admired how you have stepped into this year with so much bravery, never allowing the unknown to swallow or paralyze you, but being courageous in the face of so many new changes.”

She ended the heartfelt message, “I am tremendously proud of you and love you in this lifetime and all lifetimes forevermore. Happy Birthday, my baby boy!”

Indeed, the Alba-Warren family went through a major change last February, when Jessica and Cash, 46, shared they were calling it quits after 16 years of marriage. But the duo aren’t the only ones embracing new horizons, as their oldest daughter is adding a new milestone to her academic career: She was accepted to Yale last month.

“Honor - I don’t know how you did it. Your ability to stay focused on your goals no matter what life threw your way this year was inspiring,” Cash wrote in his Dec. 31 post. “Thanks for continuing to blaze the trail for your sister and little bro. You’re going to freaking YALE!!!”

This mother-son outing was a slam dunk.

"Date night with Hayesie," the actress wrote on Instagram in April 2025. "Epic first @lakers game w my lil man."

A few days after Jessica and Cash filed for divorce in February 2025, she and her daughters took in the Super Bowl in New Orleans.

The Honey star posted a photo from her family's Christmas celebrations to Instagram Dec. 26, 2025. She and Cash separated the next day, according to the date listed in her divorce filing.

The pair attended a screening of Jessica's film Trigger Warning with their daughters in June 2024.

"Honor wore my @prada dress from the 2007 premier of Valentine's Day in London & Havie wore my @dolcegabbana dress from Comicon for Good Luck Chuck in 2010," The Honeset Company founder wrote on Instagram. "I loooove seeing my girls wear some of my archived pieces and adding their own touch #FashionFriday #flashbackfriday."

Jessica and Cash took their kids on a tropical vacation during Spring Break 2024.

"Easter with my mains," Jessica captioned this family snapshot in April 2024. "#HappyEaster."

The Happiest Place on Earth got a whole lot happier when the family celebrated Hayes' 6th birthday there in January 2024.

The Sin City alum was joined by her mom Cathy Alba and her three kids on Mother's Day 2024.

The family made the whole place shimmer when they caught Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in Los Angeles August 2023.

Jessica held Hayes' hand during his first day of kindergarten in September 2023.

The Fantastic Four star had a girls' night out with her daughters in November 2022, though her son couldn't help but to join in on the photo fun.

"This monster truck and his mechanics are trick-or-treat ready," Jessica wrote on Halloween 2022, sharing a photo of her and Cash's coordinating costumes with Hayes.

The family enjoyed a movie night for Honor's 14th birthday in June 2022.

Honor celebrated her middle school graduation with her entire family in June 2022.

Jessica marked International Women's Day 2022 with Honor and Haven, writing in part on Instagram, "As a mama of two daughters, I am constantly fighting to leave this world better than I found it - not only for them, but for every single person in the world and for the next generations of girls to come."

The family adopted dogs Dolly and Lucy—short for Lucille and Dolores—in 2022.

The parents and their cubs had a roarin' good time dressing up as lions for Halloween 2021.

Cash and his daughters visited Hayes in the hospital after he was born on New Year's Eve 2017.

Jessica and Warren vamped it up with Honor and Haven in October 2017.

Cash received sweet smooches from his daughter in this July 2016 snapshot.

Haven rang in her 5th birthday in 2016 with a tropical themed party.
