City Intimation Slip JEE Main 2026 Live Updates: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the city intimation slips for the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 examination in the first week of January. Once released, candidates will be able to check and download the JEE Main 2026 January session slips from the official website — jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 examination for Paper 1 (BE/BTech) and Paper 2A and 2B (BArch and BPlanning) is scheduled to begin on January 21 and will continue till January 30.
The city intimation slip will inform candidates about the city of their allotted examination centre, allowing them to plan travel and accommodation in advance. However, it will not serve as the admit card. The JEE Main 2026 admit cards are expected to be issued three to four days before the commencement of the exam.
According to NTA, the results for the January session of JEE Main 2026 will be declared on February 12.
During the JEE Main application process, candidates were allowed to select up to four preferred exam cities within the states corresponding to their present and permanent addresses. NTA has stated that it will make all efforts to allot exam cities based on the candidates’ preferences. However, due to administrative or logistical constraints, candidates may be allotted a city different from their choices.
“In cases where there are very few candidates from a city, NTA reserves the right to merge one or more cities. The decision of NTA regarding the allotment of the City/Centre shall be final, and no further correspondence will be entertained,” the agency said.
NTA further emphasised that it will take into account the comfort and convenience of candidates, including Persons with Disabilities (PwD/PwBD), while allotting exam centres for the JEE Main 2026 January session. For foreign candidates, the choice of examination cities will also be determined based on their present and permanent addresses.
