The Bar Council of India (BCI) is expected to announce the final answer key and scorecards for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) 20 by this week. While the council has not yet confirmed an official result date, past trends suggest that the AIBE 20 results could be released by late December 2025 or early January 2026.
The AIBE 20 (XX) examination was conducted on November 30, 2025 nationwide for law graduates seeking enrolment as advocates. The exam is a mandatory qualifying test to obtain the Certificate of Practice from the Bar Council of India.
Following the exam, the provisional answer key was released in early December, and candidates were allowed to raise objections against the key. The objection window closed on December 10, 2025, after which the BCI began reviewing challenges submitted by candidates.
As of now, nearly four weeks have passed since the AIBE 20 examination, and candidates are awaiting the release of the final answer key and result. Meanwhile, here’s a a look at the result timelines of previous AIBE sessions –
Based on the previous data, AIBE results have typically been announced between 65 and 107 days after the examination. However, for AIBE 20, the objection window closed relatively early on, which could allow the BCI to expedite the evaluation process.
Considering this, the AIBE 20 result is expected to be declared either in the last week of December 2025 or the first week of January 2026. Candidates should note that the final answer key is usually released shortly before or along with the result.
Qualified candidates will subsequently be issued the Certificate of Practice, which allows them to practise law in Indian courts.
