A day after South Indian star Samantha Ruth Prabhu was mobbed by an unruly crowd at an event in Hyderabad, her close friend and playback singer-cum-dubbing artiste Chinmayi Sripaada has stepped forward, expressing shock at the entire incident. She also maintained that it shouldn’t be the responsibility of female artistes alone to ensure their security.
Reposting a clip of the incident on X (formerly Twitter), Chinmayi expressed her sympathy for Samantha’s team, including her personal assistant Arya, who can be seen trying tirelessly to ensure her safety as the crowd descended into a frenzy. “The actress’ team, including her team member, Arya, is literally safeguarding her with his entire person. He must have been left with several bruises at the very least. Controlling a mob of humans who don’t know basic civil behaviour is not an actress’ job,” Chinmayi wrote.
The incident reportedly took place in Hyderabad, Telangana, when Samantha arrived for the inauguration of a saree store. As she left the venue, the massive crowd grew chaotic, jostling and creating a chilling atmosphere. In the clip, the actor can be seen struggling to navigate through the public while her team tries their best to ensure that she reaches the car safely. At one point, the crowd becomes so uncontrollable that someone accidentally steps on her saree from behind. However, she, without losing her cool, manages to enter the car and flee the spot.

This incident comes days after actor Nidhhi Agerwal was similarly mobbed during a promotional event in Hyderabad. The incident occurred at a mall in the city, where she had arrived for the launch of a song from her upcoming film, The Raja Saab, in which she stars alongside Prabhas. Clips of the incident, which soon went viral, showed the actor struggling to exit the place as she was surrounded by the crowd on all sides. The local police later initiated legal proceedings against the management of the mall and the event organisers.
