Jana Nayagan song Raavana Mavandaa is crooned by Anirudh Ravichander.
The song “Raavana Mavandaa” from Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming Tamil film Jana Nayagan was officially released by the makers on Friday. The song was earlier performed by music composer Anirudh Ravichander at the audio launch of the film in Malaysia. Penned by Vivek, the high-energy track is also sung by Anirudh. It marks the fourth song from the album following chartbusters “Oru Pere Varalaaru”, “Thalapathy Kacheri” and “Chella Magale.”
The powerful song’s lyrical video features shots and glimpses from the audio launch of Jana Nayagan in Malaysia. The song portrays the protagonist as an all-pervading force who commands respect and inspires awe. Repeated references liken him to Yama, the god of death, symbolising justice, fate, and power. Overall, the track celebrates an invincible hero figure.
Taking to their X handle, production house KVN Productions announced the release of the song, along with Vijay’s poster. The tweet read, “Vasanamaa ezhudhalaam avan kadha adhukkellaam mela.. #RaavanaMavandaa is here.” Fans flooded social media, expressing their excitement about ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s latest single “Raavana Mavandaa”.
“This is the FINAL ELEVATION TRACK of Tamil cinema,” a fan commented. Another person wrote, “The Rockstar – Thalapathy combo never fails to create history! This track is an absolute banger. Repeat mode on!” “Banger!!! Lyrical video super!! Visuals !” a third comment read. An excited fan also shared, “I can’t wait for the movieeee.”
Meanwhile, the grand audio launch of Jana Nayagan took place on December 27 in Malaysia. The huge event, which celebrated Thalapathy Vijay’s terrific three-decade-long career as an actor, also featured Anirudh Ravichander’s live concert, performances by veteran singers, and a heartwarming goodbye speech by Vijay.
While addressing the fans and media, Vijay had said, “When I entered the cinema, I thought I was building a small sand house here. But you all have built me a palace. Fans helped me build a fort… That’s why I’ve decided to stand for them. For the fans who gave up everything for me, I’m giving up cinema itself. My fans come to see me in theatres. Now, I will stand up for them for the next 30 to 33 years. They have been very loyal, even when I faced criticism from others. This Vijay will pay back his debt of gratitude.”
Besides Vijay, Jana Nayagan also features Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani and Narain. Produced by Venkat K Narayana and helmed by H Vinoth, the movie is scheduled to hit theatres on January 9, 2026.
