Shares of India’s biggest private lender HDFC Bank slipped as much as 1.5% to their intraday low of Rs 986.75 on the BSE on Monday, January 5, after the lender released its Q3 FY26 business update, reporting steady year-on-year growth in advances and deposits during the December 2025 quarter.

The bank’s average advances under management for the quarter stood at Rs 28.64 lakh crore, reflecting a growth of around 9% over Rs 26.28 lakh crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Advances under management include loans grossed up for inter-bank participation certificates, bills rediscounted, and securitisation or assignment.

On a period-end basis, advances under management were approximately Rs 29.46 lakh crore as of December 31, 2025, marking a 9.8% increase over Rs 26.84 lakh crore as of December 31, 2024.

The relatively faster growth in gross advances points to sustained lending momentum during the quarter.

At the end of the quarter, total deposits were approximately Rs 28.60 lakh crore as of December 31, 2025, reflecting an 11.5% year-on-year rise over Rs 25.64 lakh crore. Period-end CASA deposits stood at around Rs 9.61 lakh crore, up 10.1% from Rs 8.73 lakh crore as of December 31, 2024.
