Haryana Police Constable Recruitment 2026: Registration begins for 5,500 posts at hryssc.in — Eligibility, salary & more

The Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) has issued the notification for Haryana Police Constable Recruitment 2026 to fill 5,500 vacancies in the state police force. The online application process commenced on January 11, 2026, and will remain open until January 25, 2026, on the official HSSC website– at hryssc.in.

Only candidates who have qualified for the HSSC Common Eligibility Test (CET) for Group C are eligible to apply. The commission has clarified that no application fee will be charged from any category, and applicants are advised to carefully read the notification before submitting their forms.

For the Haryana Police Constable Recruitment 2026, candidates must have completed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board, along with matric-level studies in Hindi or Sanskrit, and must have qualified the HSSC Common Eligibility Test (CET) for Group C.

Applicants should be between 18 and 25 years of age as of January 1, 2026, with age relaxations applicable to reserved categories as per Haryana government norms.

–Candidates applying under reserved categories must upload a Haryana bonafide resident certificate along with specific documents as per their category. These include a DSC/OSC certificate for deprived or other scheduled castes, a BC-A/BC-B (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate issued on or after April 1, 2025, and an EWS certificate valid for Haryana issued on or after April 1, 2025.

–Ex-Servicemen (ESM) must provide a discharge certificate or discharge book showing entry, release, and cause of discharge, while family members of disabled ESM must submit documents detailing entry, release, and disability percentage of the parent or spouse, along with an Eligibility Certificate issued or renewed on or after January 12, 2025.

–Family members of ESM must also provide an eligibility certificate issued or renewed on or after January 12, 2025, and dependents of freedom fighters must upload a certificate issued by a competent authority.

–Additional documents include NCC certificates (A, B, or C level) for weightage marks, both old and renewed versions of re-issued documents, a twins undertaking as per Annexure VI, and character certificates from the last attended institution and two responsible persons.

–Importantly, only documents uploaded during the online application will be considered at the scrutiny stage, and candidates must retain hard copies of the application and all uploaded documents for verification.

For Haryana Police Constable Recruitment 2026, the salary for male constables (General Duty), female constables (General Duty), and male constables in the government railway police is Rs 21,700 at Level-3, Cell-1.

The broader pay scales range from Rs 21,700–69,100 for constables, Rs 25,500–81,100 for head constables, Rs 29,200–92,300 for assistant sub inspectors, Rs 35,400–112,400 for sub-inspectors, and Rs 44,900–142,400 for inspectors.

All recruits have to undergo basic training, and the Level-Cell system refers to the structured government pay matrix used for increments, with allowances like DA and HRA to be verified separately.

The selection process will be conducted in multiple stages, beginning with shortlisting based on CET Group C scores, followed by the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) to assess height and chest parameters, and subsequently the Physical Screening Test (PST), which will include a running test.
