The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced a change in the schedule for the Chartered Accountant (CA) Intermediate examination, Group 2, Paper 5 – Auditing and Ethics. Previously set for January 15, the exam has been postponed to January 19, from 2 pm to 5 pm, in view of the Municipal Corporation elections in Maharashtra on the earlier date. The examination will be conducted at the same centres across India and abroad.
ICAI has further clarified that the admit cards issued on December 18 will remain valid for the revised date, and candidates need not download fresh hall tickets.
The Institute has further confirmed that the schedule for all other Chartered Accountant (CA) January session examinations will remain unchanged. Candidates can download their ICAI CA admit cards from the official website, icai.org.
“In partial modification of the Institute’s Important Announcement No. 13-CA (EXAM)/JANUARY/2026 dated 23rd September 2025, it is announced for general information that due to general election of Municipal Corporations in the State of Maharashtra on 15th January 2026 (Thursday), the Chartered Accountant Intermediate Examination, Group II, Paper – 5, Auditing and Ethics, stands re-scheduled across India and abroad and the examination in the said paper shall now be held on 19th January 2026 (Monday) at the same timing(s) i.e. 2 PM to 5 PM [IST] and at the same Examination Centres,” read the notice.
The Institute has announced the schedule for the CA Foundation and CA Final examinations for the January 2026 session. The CA Foundation exams will be held on January 18, 20, 22, and 24, while the CA Final exams are scheduled for January 5, 7, and 9 for Group 1, and January 11, 13, and 16 for Group 2.
In addition, ICAI has released the timetable for the CA May 2026 session covering Intermediate, Foundation, and Final courses. Registration will open on March 3, with the last date to apply without a late fee being March 16, and with a late fee until March 19. The May 2026 examinations will be conducted from May 2 to May 20.
