Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh was the star of the show as he claimed impressive figures of 5/34 in 10 overs to help bowl Sikkim out for just 75 runs in their Group C clash of the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy in Jaipur. Opening batter Prabsimran Singh then cracked an unbeaten 53 off 26 balls to knock off the runs in 6.2 overs with 10 wickets in hand and take the side to the top of the group standings on net run-rate.
Arshdeep’s brilliant spell with the ball came on the same day he was named in India’s squad for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand. Punjab, however, were without Shubman Gill, who was reportedly sidelined due to food poisoning.
