Inside Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma’s New Year celebrations in Dubai and their epic family photo

While fans were still absorbing Virat Kohli’s emotional farewell post for 2025—where the cricketer stood tall alongside the love of his life, Anushka Sharma—he soon offered another glimpse into his New Year celebrations. Welcoming 2026, Virat shared a fresh picture with his wife. In the photograph, the husband-wife duo twinned in elegant all-black ensembles. The couple chose to ring in the New Year surrounded by family.

The celebrations included several members of the Kohli family, including Virat’s sister Bhawna Kohli Dingra, brother Vikas Kohli and sister-in-law Chetna Kohli, among other close relatives and friends. Bhawna later shared a group photograph from the previous night that featured the extended Kohli family celebrating together. Anushka Sharma’s parents were also seen in the family picture.

However, eagle-eyed social media users were quick to notice the absence of Anushka’s brother, Karnesh Sharma, from the group photo. This led to a flurry of speculation on platforms like Reddit, with some users assuming a possible fallout within the family.

A user wrote: “Happy New Year to them and to everyone. They look amazing. Hopefully, people will finally stop assuming that Anushka never meets Virat’s family or that she has issues with them!”

Another user speculated: “Anushka brother seems to have a fall out with them i guess.”

No official statement or clarification has been issued by either Virat or Anushka, and those close to the couple have maintained silence, suggesting that the absence may simply have been due to personal reasons rather than any discord.

Adding to the New Year glimpses, Virat Kohli’s brother Vikas shared another photograph featuring the men of the family posing together. He also revealed the location of their celebration, tagging “Nobu – Atlantis, The Palm,” the popular Japanese restaurant located in Dubai. The image showed Virat posing alongside his brother, father-in-law and close friends, further confirming that the family had flown to the UAE to welcome the New Year.
