YRF calls Dhurandhar’s success ‘a milsestone moment in Indian cinema’, Ranveer Singh reacts: ‘Wanted to make you proud’

Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar has seen phenomenal success at the box office. Breaking records worldwide, the Aditya Dhar directorial has also become one of highest grossing Indian films globally. With this feat, the film has garnered praise from all fronts; many actors and directors have also lauded the film’s makers and starcast for its success. Recently, Yashraj Films also put out a statement lauding Dhurandhar’s achievements. Ranveer Singh reacted to the praise and said how he always aspired to make them proud.

Appreciating Dhurandhar’s achievements, Yash Raj Film issued a statement which said, “DHURANDHAR is not a film… It’s a milestone moment in Indian cinema that will be remembered forever. Congratulations to Aditya Dhar and Jio Studios for becoming the highest-grossing Indian film of all time (In a Single language). As the captain of the ship, Aditya Dhar’s clarity of purpose, fearless storytelling, and unwavering commitment to excellence have set a new benchmark for Indian cinema. We also congratulate every cast member and technician of this brilliant film for giving their all. You are the Dhurandhars who made the thought of the film explode so loudly and so gloriously on the big screen. Thank you for giving us a cinema that inspires us to strive forward in the pursuit of creative excellence.”

Reacting to this message from YRF, Ranveer Singh wrote in the comments, “My beloved Alma Mater, only ever wanted to make you proud!” The actor was launched by Aditya Chopra in Band Baaja Baraat.

A lot of fans also took to the comments section, pointing out how YRF needs to take notes from Dhurandhar and then make its spy thrillers further. One of them wrote, “Take notes on how to make a SPY THRILLER without any Glam shows or SUPERHERO hysteria -DHURANDHAR is an example of how to make a perfect engaging SPY thriller.” Another user commented, “YRF seriously needs to take notes from Aditya Dhar. You guys were legends in romance, now all you give us is sh**ty spy films with zero soul. This is how you spoil Bollywood’s legacy.” A third user said, “Dhurandhar se sikh kar thoda spy universe me bhi aply karo grounded aur thoda realistic banao aur un director ko movie banane k liye lo jisne pehle spy movie banayi hai na ki ayan mukharji jese jo genre me acche ho. (Learning from Dhurandhar, apply this to your spy universe, make the films grounded and realistic. Take directors who are experienced at making spy thrillers, other than giving to people like Ayan Mukerji.)”

The Ranveer Singh film has been standing strong at the box office even after 33 days. As per reports in Sacnilk, the film has earned Rs 781.75 crores in India and over Rs 1247 crores worldwide. Recently, Dhurandhar surpassed RRR’s domestic collection in India. Last week, it overtook Jawan’s collection globally. The film also took a lead from Pathaan, Pushpa 2, Stree 2, Chhaava, etc becoming the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time in a single language.

After this phenomenal success, Dhurandhar’s second part is slated to release on 19th March, 2026. On the film front, after Dhurandhar 2, Ranveer will be seen in Bollywood’s first zombie apocalypse film by Jai Mehta, Pralay.
