Mutual funds were busy launching new fund offerings or NFOs in 2025. Fund houses have launched a record number of 222 mutual fund schemes in the said period till November (last available data as per AMFI).

Around 222 mutual fund NFOs were floated in the market in 2025 which together collected Rs 63,631 crore. Among these 222 new funds launched, only one was a close-ended fund while others were open-ended. The close ended fund collected Rs 72 crore and was floated in the market in February 2025.
In 2025, the highest number of funds launched were in the index fund category. Around 72 index funds were launched in the said period which together collected Rs 6,424 crore in 2025.
According to the monthly data released by Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), in 2025 till November (last available data) index funds were launched in every month with highest being in February. Around 12 index funds were launched in February whereas in March and August 11 index funds each were launched.
The next category to witness maximum number of launches was other ETFs as around 63 other ETFs were launched in 2025 which together collected Rs 577 crore. This was followed by the sectoral and thematic fund category as 34 funds were launched under this category in 2025 which collected Rs 21,606 crore.
Six multi asset allocation funds were launched in the said time period which collected Rs 3,701 crore. Five gold ETFs were launched in the said period which collected Rs 93 crore, followed by four funds each in arbitrage, flexi cap, and liquid fund categories.
Four flexi cap funds launched were - Unifi Flexi Cap Fund, Capitalmind Flexi Cap Fund, JioBlackRock Flexi Cap Fund, and The Wealth Company Flexi Cap Fund.

One large cap - Samco Large Cap Fund - was launched in March which collected Rs 149 crore.
On the basis of amount collected, sectoral and thematic funds contributed Rs 21,606 crore, followed by liquid funds which collected Rs 10,717 crore. ELSS funds were the lowest contributors as only one fund was launched in this category which collected Rs 29 crore.
