Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday reviewed the progress of the Chief Minister’s Infrastructure Development Programme (CMIDP) and instructed officials and Ministers in charge of districts not to compromise on the quality of infrastructure works being taken up under the programme in Legislative Assembly constituencies.

A sum of ₹8,666.50 crore has been set aside under the CMIDP during 2025-26, and already ₹1,000 crore has been released.

In the presence of his cabinet colleagues, Mr. Siddaramaiah reviewed the progress of works and instructed deputy commissioners to ensure the timely implementation of works for the release of the funds. He instructed Ministers in charge of districts to regularly monitor the quality of works.

The Chief Minister told officials to complete all tender processes for the implementation of development works under the programme before January 10, 2026. The funds released to 19 Assembly constituencies would be released after receiving proposals from respective constituencies, he said.

A sum of ₹25 crore (totalling ₹3,510 crore) was released to each assembly segment in 2023-24. Already works (58%) costing ₹2,040 crore had been completed, and ₹920 crore had been reimbursed. It was ordered to release ₹1,205 crore during the winter session of the legislature in Belagavi, he said.

A proposal of ₹1,890 crore had been released for repairing roads damaged during the 2024-25 monsoon, and ₹250 crore had been released so far.

Directing officials to take up the land acquisition process for railway projects as a priority, the Chief Minister said work on railway lines between Kudachi-Bagalkot, Tumakuru-Davangere, Beluru-Hassan, Shivamogga-Ranebennur, and Dharwad-Belagavi is to be commenced on time.

A total of 16,554 acres is needed for railway lines in Karnataka, and of this, 84% of the land required for projects has been acquired. Another 2,685 acres are to be acquired, he said.

The State government has to provide a sum of ₹2,581.67 crore, of which ₹2,950.22 crore is needed for land acquisition.

Works on six airports were in progress in different stages. The Chief Minister instructed officials to release compensation to owners of land who lost their properties to the airport in Hassan.

A total of 17,350 tonnes of maize has been procured, and another 76,430 tonnes are to be procured. An indent has been placed to procure 93,782 tonnes of maize, Mr. Siddaramaiah said.
