From Shantiniketan to Sweden: How Tagore’s Music Connects People Across Borders
In 1913, when Bengali poet, playwright and polymath Rabindranath Tagore became the first non-European to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature, the moment marked a quiet rupture in a Eurocentric cultural order. Few could have foreseen that more than a century later, his music would find a living home in Sweden. Yet in 2011, in the historic university town of Lund, Bubu Munshi Eklund and Lars Eklund founded the Lund International Tagore Choir.
