Authorities have announced a cash reward of ₹ 30,000 for information leading to Samarth Singh's arrest and have approached the court for the revocation of his passport. The family described the case as a "test of public confidence in the rule of law," a phrase that reflects the growing public attention the matter has drawn since Twisha Sharma's death ten days ago.

SC denies bail to suspended DIG Bhullar in CBI corruption case

Bhullar had moved the top court against a February 16 order of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, which had rejected his bail plea in the corruption case registered on October 16 last year. According to the agency, Bhullar, a 2009-batch IPS officer posted as DIG, Ropar Range, was arrested on October 16 along with an alleged middleman, Krishanu Sharda, a 29-year-old national-level hockey player, following a complaint by a scrap dealer from Mandi Gobindgarh. The CBI alleged that Bhullar was caught demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹ 8 lakh through an intermediary to “settle” a criminal case against the complainant.

The CBI has arrested Darwin Labs co-founder Ayush Varshney, one of the main accused in the ₹20,000 crore Gain Bitcoin currency scam case, officials said on Wednesday (March 11, 2026). Launched in 2015, the Gain Bitcoin operation was camouflaged under the facade of Variabletech Pte. "In an attempt to cover up the losses, GainBitcoin unilaterally switched payouts to their alleged in-house cryptocurrency called MCAP, which had significantly less value than Bitcoin, further misleading investors," the CBI had said in a statement after the registration of the case.
