1. ‘Fuel stocks sufficient in State’: CM urges calm as motorists crowd outlets

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin urged the public not to panic about the availability of fuel and cooking gas, saying the Centre has reiterated that the country has sufficient stock.

Retail fuel outlets across Chennai, as well as in other cities and towns in the State, have been witnessing a sudden spike in customer volume since last afternoon. Some petrol bunks even ran dry.

Demanding the immediate arrest of the perpetrators and refusing to receive the body of the 17-year-old girl, a class XII student who was found murdered at Kulathur in Thoothukudi district, relatives and villagers staged a road blockade at V.V.D. signal in the district.
