Lok Sabha Member Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy has instructed officials to create widespread awareness among the people and public representatives from the district level to the mandal level about the various development and welfare schemes being implemented by the Central government so that they can effectively utilise them.
He made these remarks during the District Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) review meeting held under his chairmanship at the Zilla Parishad office on Tuesday. Collector Himanshu Shukla, Rajya Sabha Member Beeda Mastan Rao, MLC Beeda Ravichandra, MLA Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, Zilla Parishad Chairman Anam Arunamma and district level officials attended the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Prabhakar Reddy said that the Central government will sanction huge amount of funds for the development of national highways in the State. “Recently, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu succeeded in securing national highway projects worth ₹ 1 lakh crore, of which ₹ 15,000 crore has already been sanctioned,” he informed.
Speaking about the various Centre-sponsored schemes, the MP said that the Union government has provided the opportunity to provide loans of up to ₹2 crore for the establishment of industries without any collateral guarantees. He further added that the loans are being sanctioned to craftsmen through the PM Vishwakarma Scheme to encourage the artisan communities.
In the agricultural sector, the Central government has provided 80% subsidy for the purchase of drone equipment worth ₹10 lakh, he added, while discussing various schemes with officials of the Housing Department, Industries, National Highways, PMEGP for MSME units, Mudra loans, Animal Husbandry, and Public Health Departments.
Reviewing 101 government schemes in the meeting, the MP said: “The Centre is sanctioning crores of rupees through various schemes for the development and welfare of the people in the State, but many people and even public representatives are not aware of these schemes.” He advised the Collector to take steps to conduct awareness programmes on the government schemes.
