However, it appears more tension is brewing than the civil lawsuit backdrop from season one.
“As the founder prepares to step down, the getaway transforms into a clash between big corporate ambitions and small business values,” the release teases, “with control of the company hanging in the balance.”
In an accompanying teaser for the season two announcement, Anthony is not shown, but his initial reaction to the upcoming antics is teased.
“If I go home and tell my parents about this stuff,” Anthony posits in a voice over in the Jan. 29 trailer, “they’re going to be like, ‘You’re lying.’”
Season two of Jury Duty follows the meteoric success of the original episodes, which aired on Amazon’s defunct Freevee. Created by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, the show’s insane premise, combined with former star Ronald’s endearing qualities, led to two Emmy nominations and massive critical acclaim.
And considering Ronald had no idea he was starring in a soon-to-be loved television series, the quick rise to fame was understandably as unbelievable as some of the courtroom moments he witnessed.
“I haven't even grasped it,” Ronald told E! News at the Golden Globes in 2024. "I don't know. This doesn't feel real. I'm still waiting for someone to pinch me and wake me up.”
