The Bluff trailer: Priyanka Chopra will go any lengths to protect her daughter.
Priyanka Chopra was never as big an action star back home as she’s become in Hollywood. Kicking off her career there by playing a spy in the espionage thriller show Quantico, moving on to Citadel and then starring alongside John Cena and Idris Elba in Heads of State – Priyanka has had many action roles in the last few years.
Now, Prime Video has dropped the trailer of Frank E Flowers’ action thriller The Bluff, where Priyanka plays a killing machine. But the body count isn’t in vain — she’ll put her life, and many others, on the line in order to protect her daughter. But the odds are stacked against her as Karl Urban’s dreaded pirate has put a bounty on her head.
The trailer starts with Priyanka spending a quiet evening with her daughter at a remote location, before she senses men approaching them. She hides her daughter in the basement before taking on the men out to kill her. They get the better of her and trap her in a tight noose. She seems to be on the brink of giving in before the men corner her daughter. Her mother’s instinct takes over as she fights back and kills those men brutally for breaking into her house and threatening her daughter.
When her daughter is shocked by the onslaught on display, she assures her, “I’m still your mother.” “How are you so good at killing people?,” asks her daughter, only for Priyanka to reply with a sly smile, “Your father didn’t marry me for my cooking.”
Set in the 19th-century Caribbean, The Bluff follows a former female pirate who must protect her family when the mysterious sins of her past catch up to her. The movie is produced by Russo Brothers’ banner AGBO Studios and Amazon MGM Studios, which will reunite with Priyanka after the 2023 espionage thriller show Citadel. The Bluff will release on Prime Video on February 25.
