After all, this year’s group of Best New Artist nominees boasts an impressive array of genres and backgrounds. While fans remember Leon from Victorious, they first got to know Addison and Alex from TikTok’s Hype House.

Meanwhile, Olivia’s songs 2025 songs “Man I Need” and “So Easy (To Fall in Love)” thrust her into the spotlight, while Lola’s “Messy” took the world by storm. Katseye, too, hit the top of the charts with “Gabriela” and "Gnarly.”
For the entire group of nominees, being recognized has, of course, been gnarly indeed.
While Olivia had “no words” for her nomination, the six women behind Katseye—Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Manon Bannerman, Megan Skiendiel, Sophia Laforteza, and Yoonchae Jeung—felt a similar way, sharing “words couldn’t describe how grateful” they were.
Meanwhile, Sombr (real name Shane Michael Boose), looked back on how far he’s come.
"Ever since I was a small kid, I have lived and breathed music. It has changed my life in so many ways," he wrote on Instagram. "This time last year, I was 19, depressed and not knowing where to turn. I wrote all of these songs on my own in my bedroom. Looking back, I am so thankful to everyone who encouraged me to keep going."
