Congress deputy leader in the Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi and BJP leader Kiren Rijiju met Birla at Parliament amid disruptions in the ongoing session.
Sources said the discussions focused on resolving differences between the treasury benches and the opposition to allow legislative business to proceed.
Following the meeting, the House is expected to function smoothly from 2 PM, the sources added.
