“It’s really crazy,” he continued. “The fact that we watched that and I get to work with John Wells who made both of those shows on my first TV show—you couldn’t write it."

As Patrick is up for a nomination alongside Noah as well as fellow costar Katherine LaNasa, he reflected on what a whirlwind it has been for him.

The last year and a half has been a roller coaster that I don’t think any of us had seen coming,” he continued. “It’s my first time on TV. Eighteen months ago I was in Brooklyn working three jobs."

Before landing the life-changing role, Patrick admitted he was considering “moving back to North Carolina.”
