"I think the biggest difference between now and the first time is that there’s no pomp around it," Chrissy shared of her return to sobriety. "The first time I put my foot down, it was EXCITING. The momentum was fun and kept me going on the right track. The second time… I dunno."
Comparing her relationship with alcohol to "an old boyfriend you talked so much s--t about to your friends, then you get back together with them," she added, "I dunno if everyone around you kind of loses faith or if you do yourself, or a mix of both."
Regardless, the former Lip Sync Battle host said she now has "no desire to turn back."
"Turns out, without it, I can still be funny," she added. "Still be stupid. Still be wildly nervous. Anxious as a motherf--ker. And I can get through it all without it."
And on a recent episode of her Self-Conscious podcast, Chrissy explained why she's not afraid to talk about the ups and downs of her journey.
"Nothing makes me more proud than somebody sharing their story of sobriety and truly seeing the different look in their eyes," she told guest Carl Radke, who has also been open about his own addiction struggles. "It's beautiful. It's contagious."
