Minister for Medical Education and Raichur district in-charge Sharan Prakash Patil and Minister for Minor Irrigation N.S. Boseraju, on Sunday, viewed a power point presentation to show the different programmes that are going to be organised during Raichur Utsav.
The Ministers invited elected representatives and officials to the district administrative auditorium in Raichur to view the presentation and discuss programmes related to Raichur Utsav scheduled to be held on the University of agricultural Sciences campus in Raichur from January 29 to 31.
“After several years, the district level Raichur Utsav is being organised. Officers should conduct meetings with various associations, including private organizations, writers, Advocates Associations, women’s organizations, auto drivers associations and civil associations, to get their opinion and suggestions to make the most-anticipated event a grand success,” Dr. Patil said.
Mr. Boseraju said that he will hold a meeting with teachers and lecturers after MLAs present in the meeting suggested it.
Both Ministers viewed the logo and other preparations, including the stage.
Explaining the three-day schedule, Deputy Commissioner Nitish K. said that different sports, including volleyball, kabbadi, cycling, marathons and wrestling, will be held during the event.
“On the first day, Raichur Utsav will be inaugurated at 5 p.m. A cultural event will be held simultaneously at the conference hall on UAS campus, the Rangmandir and other places. On January 30, a Bruhat Udyog Mela, flower exhibition, fish exhibition, dog show, essay writing competition for schoolchildren, poetry readings by writers, women’s conferences and media conferences are being held. We have planned to hold a food fair and set up 100 stalls for the purpose,” he said and added that on January 31, Guarantee Mela and Krishi Mela will be held.
MLA Hampanagouda Badarli, Basanagouda Daddal, Shivaraj Patil, Basanagouda Turvihal, Hampayya Naik, MLC A. Vasant Kumar, Taluk Guarantee Committee Chairman Pavan Kishore Patil, Superintendent of Police Arunangshu Giri, Commissioner of Mahanagara Palike Jubin Mohapatra, Additional Deputy Commissioner Shivanand and others were present.
