Why it matters

Less than a month after Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs played their last 2025-2026 season game, the tight end has exited the 2026 Pro Bowl.

Key takeaways

  • That stuff I find really fun." Whether Travis remains in the NFL after the 2025 season—the final year under his current contract—will also factor into choosing a wedding date.
  • It's like, 'Ed, if there's a stage, you know that you'll be on it,'" she said during her Hits Radio interview in October 2025.
  • If he doesn’t retire, then theirs will be off-season nuptials, anytime between the Super Bowl in February and when training camp starts in July.

Nevertheless, the 36-year-old—who got engaged to Taylor Swift in August 2025—noted that if he feels confident in his abilities and health, he would huddle up again “in a heartbeat."

In the meantime, Travis has turned his focus to his personal life and other career ventures. Earlier this month, he and brother Jason Kelce announced they would be publishing a book in June based on their New Heights podcast titled No Dumb Questions: And All of Our Dumbest Answers

“We're still wrapping our heads around being able to call ourselves published authors,” Travis and Jason said in a joint statement Jan. 14. “When we started the 'No Dumb Questions' segment on New Heights, never in our wildest dreams did we think it would become a book sitting on your coffee table.”

As the brothers put it, “We're stoked the 92%ers can take home a little piece of the podcast.”

Another exciting development in Travis’ life is, of course, his upcoming wedding to Taylor. Since their engagement, the couple have kept most details under wraps, but Travis previously emphasized that planning their special day was going to be “the next step” following this past football season.

Taylor, meanwhile, already had some ideas percolating while promoting The Life of a Showgirl in October.

“I’m so excited about it,” Taylor said during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show at the time. “I know it’s gonna be fun to plan because I think the only stressful weddings are the ones where you have a small amount and people are on the bubble.”

Indeed, Taylor admitted everyone she knows is likely to make the cut, teasing, “It’s gonna be fun.”
