A day after the counting of votes for the 29 municipal corporations, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will lead an eight-member delegation to Davos, Switzerland, from January 17 to 24 to take part in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting, 2026.

The delegation will include Uday Samant, Minister for Industries and Marathi Language; Ashwini Bhide, Additional Chief Secretary in Chief Minister’s Office; Dr P Anbalagan, Principal Secretary (Industries); Dr Shrikar Pardesi, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister; P Velarasu, Chief Executive Officer, Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC); Deependra Singh Kushwah, Development Commissioner (Industries); and Kaustubh Dhavse, Chief Advisor (Investment) to the Chief Minister.

“World Economic Forum is organising an annual meeting in Davos every year for five decades. The annual meeting provides platforms for trust-based engagement, robust debate, and public dialogue. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India is participating in this annual meeting to promote investment in India,” said the government resolution.

It added that DPIIT has engaged the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) as its nodal agency for coordination of activities relating to the India Pavilion at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2026, Davos. “Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) invited Government of Maharashtra to confirm the slot in Indian Pavilion. Accordingly, the Government of Maharashtra accepted the invitation and booked the slot between December 19 and 23, 2026,” it added.

The expenditure on travel and accommodation for the delegation will be borne by Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).
