A small act of kindness by a Swiggy delivery agent in Bengaluru has struck a chord online after a video showed him helping a family stranded on the roadside with no fuel left.
The clip was shared on Instagram by the delivery agent himself, Anil Sahu. In the caption, Sahu briefly explains what happened, adding context to what viewers later described as a deeply humane gesture.
In the video, Sahu approaches a man, his wife, and their toddler son, whose motorcycle came to a halt by the road. When he asks what went wrong, the woman explains that their vehicle completely ran out of petrol. Without pausing to think, Sahu tells them he has some extra fuel and can help.
Sahu then parks his motorcycle safely to one side, takes out a small plastic bottle filled with petrol, and hands it to the man, who pours it into the tank of his two-wheeler. The relief on the faces of the man and his wife is evident.
As the man instinctively reaches towards his pocket to offer money, Sahu stops him, saying he doesn’t need anything in return and asks him to “consider it as help”. Grateful, the man thanks him before riding away with his family.
The video has since crossed over five lakh views on Instagram, with users flooding the comments section with reactions. One viewer wrote, “That hand placement on the heart, have so deep meaning.” Another shared a personal encounter, saying, “The same thing happened to me on 31st December He gave me petrol and did not take money for it.”
Others recalled similar experiences. “Had this one really nice person who helped push my scooty once to the nearest petrol pump around 1.5–2kms away. I still think about his kindness to this day,” an Instagram user commented.
A look at Sahu’s Instagram profile suggests this wasn’t a one-off moment. Several videos show him stopping to help strangers who have run out of fuel.
