Ms Rajakumari inaugurated the ‘Yogandhra-2026’ program held on Sunday (June 7, 2026) morning at the Indoor Stadium in Nandyal town. On this occasion, she observed yoga demonstrations conducted by instructors and participated in yoga practice alongside students, youth, officials, and the general public.

Speaking on the occasion, the District Collector said the ‘Yogandhra-2026’ program would be conducted over a period of 14 days, from June 7 leading up to International Yoga Day on June 21. She noted that yoga is not merely a form of exercise but a way of life that enhances physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Ms Rajakumari added that by making yoga a daily habit and following proper dietary practices, one can not only maintain good health but also increase longevity. “Yoga enhances physical fitness, mental peace, and concentration, while boosting a person’s cheerfulness, enthusiasm, and dedication to tasks,” she asserted.

From school students to the elderly, every can participate in the ‘Yogandhra-2026’ program, she said and added that interested individuals can register via the Yogandhra portal. Master trainers, certified by the National Institute of Yoga will provide yoga training in every mandal of the district. Each trainer is set to train approximately 50 people in yoga practice over a period of 14 days.

Large-scale mass yoga events would be organized across the district on June 21 to mark International Yoga Day. An appeal was made to the public to participate in this event with their families and make yoga an integral part of their lives. The program is being organized through the coordination of the AYUSH and Medical & Health departments. Extensive arrangements have been made, including the formation of special committees at the district and mandal levels, to ensure the program’s success.

The District Collector expressed gratitude to the yoga gurus, master trainers, district officials, Municipal Commissioner, AYUSH doctor, DSDO, staff from various departments, students, youth, and parents who are working towards the success of the ‘Yogandhra-2026’ program. A large number of district officials, yoga instructors, students, youth, and members of the public participated in the event.
