“I’m feeling very excited, very happy for him very proud of him,” Cardi said in a Jan. 25 interview with the NFL network. “You know, he just came back from an ACL and me seeing the progress and the process of him, from the first time he started running back, and now joining the Patriots and actually going to the Super Bowl, I’m very excited for him. Very excited for the whole team, they been working they butts out.”
Stefon’s road to the big game—airing Feb. 8 on CBS—came with hard work, according to his leading lady.
“Discipline, discipline and work,” Cardi—who shares kids Kulture, 7, Wave, 4, and Blossom, 14 months, with ex Offset—said. “It’s not like, ‘Oh you wake up and you great.’ It’s discipline. It’s going to bed early, it’s waking up early, it’s not missing one day of work. Nothing discipline, hard discipline.”
Indeed, Stefon was emotional as he tearfully expressed what the milestone means for him.
“I’m just so proud of this team man, how hard this year has been, battling an injury and coming back,” he told the NFL Network. “Being around the right group of guys, great quarterback, great OT, great team, great head coach. It made it all worth it, all the hard work. We got one more.”
Prior to kick-off, Cardi put her team spirit on display as she shared a video showing off her metallic leather ensemble and green wig inside of Empower Field at Mile High. For his part, Stefon commented on the Jan. 25 Instagram post, fawning over his girlfriend writing, “Damn I love you…and you in my favorite color.”
