The dream of providing quality coaching for competitive examinations to talented candidates from the Kalyana Karnataka region has been realised with the inauguration of the Prabuddha Pre-Examination Training Academy, said Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister and Kalaburagi district in-charge Priyank Kharge.

Inaugurating the academy on the outskirts of the Kalaburagi city on January 11, Mr. Kharge said the centre was not merely a building but a platform to shape the future of aspirants preparing for the IAS, IPS, KAS, and other competitive examinations.

He said the project was planned when he was Social Welfare Minister but was delayed after a change of government. Emphasising that education and jobs should not be affected by politics, Mr. Kharge said, “After the Congress came to power, we resumed the work, completed it and inaugurated the academy. The facility has been built over 10,000 sq. ft. at a cost of ₹30 crore.”

Referring to past irregularities in the PSI examination, Mr. Kharge said several students who went to Bengaluru for coaching had struggled even for a single meal. The academy was established to ensure that students from the region are not forced to face such hardship again, he said.

The Minister said efforts would be made to develop the academy into a centre of excellence, and suggested that IAS and IPS officers from the region volunteer to teach aspirants at the academy.

He said that two city buses of the Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation have been deployed to facilitate transport for candidates. Of the total applicants for the entrance test conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority, 500 candidates will be selected on merit for training.

Medical Education Minister Dr. Sharan Prakash Patil said the academy would provide quality coaching facilities for competitive examinations to students from the region, addressing a long-standing gap and reducing their dependence on metropolitan cities for exam preparation.

Legislators M.Y. Patil, Allamprabhu Patil, Thippannappa Kamaknoor, Jagdev Guttedar and Deputy Commissioner Fouzia Tarannum were present.
