While things are going well, Carl—who ended his engagement to his Summer House costar Lindsay Hubbard in September 2023, shortly before their November wedding—also emphasized that he’s being mindful and trying to “take my time” before committing to a new relationship.
“I got a lot going on. So, you know, she lives in Charleston, [I'm] in New York City, so we've all seen how that goes,” he joked, referring to the split between his former costar Paige DeSorbo and Venita’s Southern Charm costar Craig Conover.
Carl first disclosed that he went on a date with Venita during a Summer House panel at BravoCon 2025 in November, according to Bravo's Daily Dish. At the time, he said he had a “great time hanging out with Venita” as he sung her praises.
“Venita is beautiful," he raved. "She’s really cool. We’ve known each other kind of through Ciara [Miller]... Venita's actually been at the summer house. Venita and I got to know each other a bit more yesterday, so we'll see.”
The following month, Venita—who confirmed her split from boyfriend Manny Houston on Southern Charm in January 2025—addressed their date on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, revealing that they “shut the place down” and it "lasted for almost five hours."
The model shared more insight into their dynamic when she appeared on an episode of Watch What Happens Live earlier this month, telling host Andy Cohen, “You know, we’re taking it one day at a time, going out on dates and trying to get to know each other better.”
She also shut down speculation that they’re in a “situationship” as she explained, “I’m trying to to see if it can get [to a relationship].”
“He’s very intentional, and a very hard worker, and very kind,” she added. “He’s tall with a great smile.”
