Why it matters

Wuthering Heights director Emerald Fennell made sure that Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi's chemistry onscreen was as strong as it could be by making a shrine of the other in their dressing rooms.

“Honestly, she kind of set the bar,” Margot shared. “And then we just kept trying to meet the bar after that. She set the bar high.”

“I remember the first couple days on set, he would just be like, always in the vicinity of where I was, but in a corner watching,” the Wolf of Wall Street alum recalled during an interview with Fandango earlier this month. “On the third day, I found myself starting to look around to see where he was. I was like, ‘Well obviously he’s going to be somewhere close by. Where is he right now?”

Noting that she was “unnerved and unmoored” by his absence, Margot added, “I felt quite lost. Like a kid without their blanket or something. I was like, ‘Where is he?’”

For his part, Jacob emphasized that their bond is a “mutual obsession” as he stated, “I was enamored by her.”

Though Wuthering Heights is making waves before it hits screens, it’s just one of many books that will soon see new life on TV and in film. For more, keep reading…
