The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell on Friday declared that registration for MHT-CET 2026 will begin from January 10 and will continue until February 12. Registration schedule, information booklet and applications will be made available for students on the official website of the CET Cell.

MHT-CET is a state-wide entrance test held by the CET Cell for admission to popular professional courses such as engineering, agriculture, pharmacy etc. For MHT-CET 2025, a total of 4,64,263 students had registered for Physics Chemistry Mathematics (PCM) group, whereas 3,01,072 students registered for the Physics Chemistry Biology (PCB) group.

From this year, MHT-CET will be conducted twice on the lines of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), the national-level engineering entrance test. The idea is to hold two sessions of MHT-CET to allow candidates another chance to appear for the exam. Candidates will have a choice to appear for both or only one attempt, as per their convenience. In case of two attempts, the best of the two scores will be considered for admission, as per the practice followed by JEE-Main exam.

Accordingly, MHT-CET 2026 will hold the first session for both groups from April 11 to 26. Whereas the second attempt session for both groups will be held between May 10 and 17.

The Maharashtra CET Cell has notified that to register for MHT-CET, or any other CET, it is mandatory for candidates to have APAAR (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry) ID along with Aadhaar. Whereas candidates with disability will be required to upload a disability certificate issued by the competent authority or a Unique Disability ID (UDID) card. The Maharashtra CET Cell has urged candidates to generate APAAR Id before beginning to register for CET.

Along with MHT-CET, registration for MBA-MMS (Masters of Business Administration–Master of Management Studies) will also begin from January 10 and will continue up to February 12. Last year, a total of 1,16,585 candidates had registered for this entrance test to popular management courses. From this year, along with MHT-CET, MBA-MMS CET will also have two attempts. While the first attempt will be between April 6 to 8, 2026, the second attempt test will be conducted on May 9, 2026. The Maharashtra CET Cell has already started the registration process for a few other CETs such as BEd, MEd, LLB etc.
