The Hindi film industry has been going gaga over Dhurandhar and many actors, directors and other technicians have been showering praise on the Ranveer Singh-starrer. But, amid all this, actor Alia Bhatt has maintained her silence. The actor is yet to post about the film. Alia’s silence was noted by the fans, considering she and Ranveer have previously collaborated on Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy and Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The two have previously appeared together on Koffee with Karan as well, where they were quite vocal about their friendship.
While Alia is yet to say something about Dhurandhar, she recently spoke about Ranveer in a chat with Vogue. Alia was discussing the different looks from the different phases of her life when she saw the picture from Gully Boy’s premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival. Alia spoke about Ranveer’s work in the film and said, “That evening was the premiere and Gully Boy got a lot of love.” She then added, “Ranveer headlined the movie, he was the Gully Boy. He was just outstanding, like even the music and the rap, till today, I think has a solid vibe.”
Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh have shared a strong bond in the past as director Karan Johar pointed out during their appearance on Koffee with Karan. On that episode, Alia also shared that she shared the news of her engagement with Ranbir with Ranveer, even though she was yet to announce it to the rest of the world.
They also share some history, as Ranveer’s wife, Deepika Padukone, and Alia’s husband, Ranbir Kapoor, used to date each other back when they made their film debuts. Ranbir and Deepika dated each other for a few years but then broke up in a public fashion, as Deepika, in an earlier appearance on Koffee with Karan, implied that Ranbir cheated on her during the course of their relationship. Since then, the two seemed to have made up, as they have also worked in a few films together, like Tamasha and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
Ranveer is currently looking forward to the release of the sequel of Dhurandhar, which releases in March. He is announced to be the star of Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3, which is expected to start shooting next year. Alia is currently looking forward to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
