BATHINDA: Two young Punjabi students were shot dead in Edmonton, Canada. The victims have been identified as Gurdeep Singh (27) of Bareh and Ranveer Singh (18) from Uddat Saidewala villages in Budhlada sub division of district Mansa. Both had gone to Canada at different times for their studies. Gurdeep had completed the studies and waiting for work permit. As per family members they were going to join their friends in a party. Gurdeep’ friend Arshdeep Singh informed the family about the incident as Gurdeep and Ranbir have been killed with gun shots fired at their car. It is learnt that Canada police has rounded up some other Punjabi youths and investigating the matter. A pall if gloom descended at Budhlada villages when news of their killing reached the family members.
